Glenmist Tea Estate Homestay

Meet the team

Head of the kitchen

Sushila runs the family table: Nepali home cooking from her own village recipes, Bengali Sunday breakfasts and the Anglo-Indian Thursday dinners. The marmalades and pickles in the larder are hers too.

Tea maker

Dawa has made tea at Glenmist for more than twenty years and leads the factory tours and tastings. Ask him about the difference between a March and an April pluck and you will be in the tasting room for an hour.

Your hosts

Welcome to Glenmist. Ranjan's family has lived and worked on this estate for four generations, and we opened the bungalows to guests because a house like this is meant to be full. Treat it as your own: borrow the books, sit by any fire, wander into the kitchen garden. We eat dinner with our guests most evenings, and there is nothing we enjoy more than planning your days, whether that means a dawn walk with the pluckers or not leaving the verandah at all. We look forward to having you.
