The corner suite of the Rungeet Bungalow, looking straight down the valley to the river.
From the corner of the Rungeet Bungalow the land drops away almost sheer, and the suite's windows look down the length of the valley to the river two thousand feet below. In the monsoon the clouds come up the valley below you; in winter the air is so clear you can hear the river. A brass-and-ivory bed faces the view, with a sitting corner by the fireplace and a writing desk. Outside, a swing seat hangs from the verandah beams at the suite's own corner. The bathroom has an old clawfoot bath on wide teak boards, a separate rain shower and toiletries made for us in Kalimpong. This is the suite we suggest for honeymoons.
